Ryoko Nuruki is a Japanese composer-pianist whose career took her from Italy to Canada before settling in France on the French Riviera. The music of Ryoko Nuruki (her compositions and covers) is the meeting point of modern jazz, classical and traditional music. Her innovative and refined work nevertheless remains jubilant and accessible. The authenticity of Ryoko is sincere and spontaneous. The originality of Ryoko lies in her attitude towards rhythms and silences, skillfully juggling between peer and odd rhythms, African and Asian, while exploiting the silences with equal happiness, as never before has been done.
