?Zig Zag? is the third album by The Framers, a group composed by drummer Phil Mer, who boasts collaborations with artists such as Pino Daniele, Pooh, Malika and Andrea Lombardini, one of the most original bassists on the contemporary jazz scene. The album contains 8 instrumental tracks and 3 interludes, all inspired by the masterpieces of the 'Ca Pesaro International Gallery of Modern Art' in Venice, which is collaborating on the project. Each track describes and narrates a painting by artists such as Klimt, Kandisnky, Ernst, Fattori and tries to transfer the poetic principles of painting into music. |
