For his 17th album as leader, Jean-Luc "Oboman" Fillon has gathered a quintet around original and personal arrangements of the music of the composers of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers (Wayne Shorter, Bobby Timmons, Freddie Hubbard, Cedar Walton). The choice of musicians for this quintet has been carefully considered. Jean-Luc has had many opportunities to collaborate with these talented, generous and jovial musicians. Jean-Luc recorded the albums On the Reed... Again! with Bruno Rousselet and Karl Jannuska in 2009, Chick to Chick in 2013 with Olivier Hutman and Oboman Plays Cole Porter with Fr?d?ric Eymard in 2014.
