Jani Kemppinen released his long-awaited solo album, called "Kevaammalla". The album, which straddles the border between rock and prog, is in places strongly reminiscent of the work of Kemppinen's former collaborator Juice Leskinen. The first tracks were written in 1997, and over the years the whole has slowly matured. Kemppinen, who was previously known as a keyboard player in particular, is able to show the wide range of his musical talents on this album. The entire album, including the compositions, lyrics, instrumentation and cover art, is Kemppinen's own work. Kemppinen, a graphic designer by trade, is a self-taught musician. He is known as the former keyboard player of Popeda. Kemppinen still plays in a number of different bands, including Jay Lewis Gang and Skadam. |
