Ginevra di Marco gained fame in the 1990s with several Italian poprock bands, while building her solo carreer, releasing her debut 1999. From that moment on, Ginevra?s voice is one of Italy?s most passionate voices to be heard. This live disc of Ginevra Di Marco includes many of those songs that resulted in her second artistic life, research and rediscovery of traditional music from around the world. Songs of denunciation with a strong social identity, to remember the conditions of inequality that have gone through the last century, and that still are all too present, some of which have over time become flagships for the Florentine singer, like 'Malarazza' and 'Amara Terra Mi' by Domenico 'Modugno and La Leggera' (traditional Tuscan song, a classic repertoire of Ginevra). The disc closes with 'Gracias a la vida' by Violeta Parra and 'Come Bambino' by PGR, dedicated to astrophysics Margherita Hack with which Geneva has shared the scene. |
