It is always dangerous to challenge legends, but some, like Nicolas Folmer, have a natural legitimacy to do so, because the trumpeter is one of the few artists to have been produced by Miles Davis' producer, Teo Macero. All the more legitimate as some renowned artists supported him and congratulated him for having tried this difficult exercise. Nicolas Folmer and his musician friends recently created a tribute to Miles Davis. This tribute to a musician whose music has touched so many lives, has been beautifully conceived and performed. Nicolas, in particular, plays wonderfully on this album. His performance shows that he lived with Miles' music and absorbed it into his soul.
