Bargou 08 deftly combines the little-known soundscapes and rhythms of the Tunisian highlands with driving electronic and rock textures. A deep, pulsing Moog synthesizer intertwines with explosive drums, traditional string/reed instruments and the haunting power of ancient songs. The trance of the past emerges from out of the speakers, but the sound is wired, contemporary and thrilling. While Targ is the band?s debut album, there is already a growing buzz from their appearances at major festivals (Roskilde) and their acclaimed showcase at WOMEX 2016.
