Pianist Antonio Rosado's new album, "Goyescas", is entirely dedicated to Spanish composer Enrico Granados (1867-1916). The album includes the suite "Goyesca", which Granados composed in 1911 after viewing the canvases of the same name by Francisco Goya (1746-1828). Two of the pieces Rosado plays derive their titles from one of Goya's canvases, "El Amor y la Murete", from his "Caprichos" series, and another, "El Pelele", from a map by Goya for tapestry. Pianist Ant?nio Rosado made his concert debut in 1980 with the National Orchestra of Toulouse (France). His piano repertoire includes works by composers as diverse as George Gershwin, Aaron Copland, the also Spanish Alb?niz, Liszt, as well as Mozart and Beethoven, two composers whose sonatas he has performed all of. |
