Rodolphe Lauretta delivers in this second opus an explosive cocktail of Caribbean music, hip-hop, future-funk and experimental pop, cleverly sheltered under the seal of a tutelary jazz. Initiated by a commission from the Jazz à Vienne festival around a tribute to Madlib, a cult hip-hop producer, the project has evolved into a repertoire of daring compositions, served by a core group of five outstanding improvisers without stylistic blinkers. In this collective spirit, the diversity of styles emerges through adventurous jazz that pushes song and hip-hop out of their comfort zone.
