Guitar wizard and extraordinaire inventor Lester William Polsfuss ? better known as Les Paul ? will forever be linked to the story of the solid body electric guitar. So many guitarists owe his favourite axe, the one that bears his name, to his inventions in the 1940s and his work with guitar manufacturer Gibson in the 1950s.
