Heikkinen, Anna & Langtans Kapell - Omenatango

A journey to Karelia in search of roots. To the grandfather's apple orchard, with 200 apple trees that he planted with hope for the future. Then came the Finnish Winter War and everything had to be left behind. Anna Heikkinen & Langtans Kapell tell the story of longing for something lost, but also of the joy of being there and a search for the meaning of everything that happens. Four musicians with strong artistic integrity and backgrounds in Argentinian tango, klezmer and Nordic folk music who have explored Finnish tango with great care for the material and their own personal expression. On their debut album they offer power, strong presence and tender musical dialogue in personal interpretations.
