For more than a decade the Steven Oquendo Latin Jazz Orchestra has been one of the most precious hidden treasures of the Bronx. Founded while an instructor at Harlem School of the Arts, by trumpeter-educator Oquendo, who has performed alongside Celia Cruz, Rubn Blades, and Eddie Palmieri. This recording is celebrating the centennials of Tito Puente and Tito Rodriguez at Jazz at Lincoln Centers Dizzys Club.
