MiRanda - A Lisbon Woman - Uma Mulher Na Cidade

Miranda was the singer of the successful quintet Orquestrada from Lisbon. On this solo CD, Miranda shows that there is still room for innovation within fado. She sings in Portuguese, Creole, French and Castilian. She subverts traditional notions of rhythm and other customary codes, sometimes mischievously, sometimes lyrically. A beautiful voice, excellent musicians: Miranda has no need to prove herself.
