The album 'Podruhe' is actually a re-release of the 2004 title, complete with some later concert footage. The album includes a number of well-known songs in general (i.e. not only in the Uherske Hradiste region, but also in Moravia and the Czech part of the country). Incidentally, many of the recordings were made live during performances. Yet this is not a shumarina in the more derisive sense. It's also nice that the album, in contrast to today's almost norm of folk recordings, "has no concept" and mixes various themes and subgenres as well as sombre ballads with humour, which is a great gift of the dulcimer band, whose leader Ludvik Betak jokes "one person called us a 5B band, five times bypass... but we are still young in spirit". |
