Alaturka Records searched through historical archives and asked the many artists linked to the label to work together on this project, to preserve the Turkish heritage for future generations. The famous cellist Ugur Isik was the one who initiated this project called Girizgah (introduction) with the subtitle: ?where the gramophone comes from?. With that notion as a starting point the diverse musicians perform the old classical pieces in the traditional way. It?s not so much a new interpretation, it?s more a historical document. And it shows that the compositions are still as powerful as they once were in the 18th and 19th century.
