Maria Solheim has become one of the most exciting female artists and songwriters in Norway. Her third album, Frail, represents an important step in finding her true personal musical style.
On her widely acclaimed 2001 debut record, Barefoot, she played with some of the most talented musicians in Norway. On her next album, Behind Closed Doors from 2002, Maria developed towards a more deeply personal style. She continues this journey into a very personal and special style on "Frail", but doesn't do this alone as she has enlisted an entirely new musical ensemble, especially highly profiled young pianist Emil Nikolaisen, with his ambivalent and powerful expressive style. The album was recorded in Hangarsound studio.
Maria gives us 10 new powerful and captivating songs on "Frail". Her interpretations and the original sound of Nikolaisen's production create a unique poetic yet raw ambience, simply a world of its own.
